All good things come to an end, and our week in Maggie Valley is over. The accommodation was fine, and we did enjoy our week.
High point of the week (in addition to the Cherokee)?
Fat Buddies Barbecue in Waynesville. Fantastic ribs and chicken.
We took a trip up to Gatlinburg in Tennessee. Like Blackpool in the mountains. But tackier!
Its where she lives, from 9 to 5.
We took the same road again, on our way to Nashville, and an overnight stay in a dull and dreary motel. Motel 6s are usually better than this – and not so pricey!
I didn’t measure it precisely, but we passed within 16 miles of this place, following the son of a dustman.
On the way to Nashville, L and I stopped off in Crossville, Tennessee’s self-styled ‘largest flea-market’. Much more interesting than Asheville.
We could have made a detour down towards the Georgia/Alabama border, and one of music’s wonderful song names. We managed two songs out of the same place.
Laverne, Maxene and Patty would catch a train, there.
And you can polish my boots, you son of a gun!
