After visiting Shuttleworth, and missing the Catalina flying boat, we headed to Duxford, where the Catalina was based. No flying display, but lots of wonderful things to see. Military, aviation, and other things. Lots of very helpful people. I found the Catalina. What a beautiful aircraft. The American display was incredible. A B52 is a very big beast, indeed. The Blackbird was stunning. Go and see it.
Best surprise. A Sunderland flying boat. Not as elegant as the Catalina, but large and imposing.
One thing to avoid. Flapjacks. Overpriced, and as appealing as eating wood shavings!
Duxford is worth the visit.
