See the fool performing
Supple of limb
And able to pat himself on the back
While he fills his face at the table of others.
What a gymnast!
Hear the fool talking
Loud of voice
And able to make himself heard
Though none of the words has meaning.
What a trumpet!
Watch the fool strutting
Puffed out chest
And head nodding like a pigeon
But the mess he makes is the same.
What a pity!
He talks of common sense
But never owned any.
He talks of favour
But never found any.
He asks for mercy
But never gave any.
What a fool.
