A few notes …
Some of the hints were blindingly obvious (like the blog title, for instance!), some were obscure, to be sure (‘Weird Al’ Yankovic and others), and some should be clear when you look at the pictures (‘Standing on the Corner’ Park in Winslow – the group, and a huge chunk of the lyrics can be found in one single photo!)
… and an explanation.
Not every well-known started out with the same title as it had when it became famous. The Monkees hit ‘Last Train to Clarksville’ had no connection with any Clarksville at all. It was ‘Last Train to Clarksdale (Arizona)’, but ‘Clarksville’ sounded snappier. The Monkees neither wrote it nor sang it in the beginning. The mimed it on the show.
Same for the Johnny Cash/June Carter song ‘Jackson’. It originally was ‘Memphis’. And though it doesn’t feature here, ‘Way Down Upon the Swannee River’ was originally ‘Way Down Upon the PeeDee River’. The author never even visited Florida, it is the Florida State Song, and the lyrics are somewhat politically incorrect.
We will name the winner in the next blog. Hope you all enjoyed it.

Pretty sure most of those went right over my head…..
Sounds like you had a great time though, and some good pictures!
