The title of this little travelogue series might seem a touch vague and confusing, but worry not! All will be made clear.
In the space of two and a half weeks, we travelled North from Charlotte North Carolina, through the Shenandoah Valley and the Virginias, to Pennsylvania and the Pocono Mountains. A quick detour to New York, just before Christmas, then South through Delaware, Virginia, North then South Carolina at the resort of Myrtle Beach. Finally, back to Charlotte, and the less-than-tender care of US Airways.
Lots of photos, and more than a few comments on places that you’ve probably never heard of ( and a few that we all thought we knew). This is just the preamble. The rest will follow, chunk by chunk – this is a quite appropriate term, I assure you – as we upload the pictures we took.
A word of warning! If you intend to drive 2000+ miles in the USA, do NOT hire a Nissan Altima. Spend the fortnight sitting on a park bench in mid-winter – the seating will be more comfortable than the Neesan (that’s how they say it), and the park bench will not be as flimsy.
Here are a few tasters …
These are the highs and the lows of our trip. Physically speaking …
