Run Free

Well, it has been nearly 3 months since I jumped ship – and I have no regrets at all. I don’t have as much money as I used to, but I am told that I smile a lot more, and that has to be worth the cash! Any donations appreciated. Cash, please! Nothing bigger than a twenty (£ Sterling) or $100, and no consecutive serial numbers …

Just kidding. These days, I can do that.

Things worth seeing, now that I can spend the time.
Flocks of swifts flying around the house, feeding on all the insects kicked up when they harvest the fields. Fantastic!

An enormous grass snake (nearly five foot long – and you must excuse me if I didn’t actually pick it up to measure it exactly). The dog wanted to play with it, but the snake decided that it would sunbathe somewhere else.

Fantastic sunsets. Red clouds and brilliant skies. Only lasted a few minutes, but you just had to be there to see it.

Cake stalls at Ely market, swarming with dozens of wasps – and no-one bothered in the slightest. Just brush them off as the cake goes in to the paper bag. Down side – the apple pies were tasteless. Healthy eating means less sugar and no flavour. Sad.

The transgender stall holder. Obviously a man (originally) but a nice figure. And nobody batted an eyelid. They are a tolerant lot in Ely. Just like Doncaster.

Sunny day after sunny day. Does tend to make you put off till tomorrow so that you can put it off for another day. The rose garden is thriving. And the scent is delightful. We do try to pick scented roses. They are so much nicer.

The weather is getting more like autumn now, and it is time to get back to the keyboard. (Or back to tiling the kitchen, sayeth the other half!). Looking forward to next summer.
